Expert draft hindsight is 20/20

Two weeks ago, I was invited to participate in a 12-team, non-PPR expert league for the upcoming Fantasy Football season
Starting rosters included one QB, TE, K, Flex (RB or WR) and team defense, and two RBs and WRs. Five bench players were also selected.
Here is the team I drafted out of the dreaded No. 12 spot:
Round 1, Pick 12: WR Reggie Wayne, Colts -- PPR or not, I wasn`t going to get a better player than Wayne in this spot. My original targets, Redskins RB Clinton Portis and Bills RB Marshawn Lynch, were scooped up well before my selection.
Round 2, Pick 1: WR Terrell Owens, Cowboys -- I just couldn`t force myself to select Chiefs RB Larry Johnson or Packers RB Ryan Grant just for the sake of having a RB, so I turned to my No. 3-rated WR, Owens.
Round 3, Pick 12: WR Torry Holt, Rams -- Once again, the RB crop left a lot to be desired, so I filled my Flex spot with Holt. Three top-tier WRs is never a bad thing.
Round 4, Pick 1: RB Earnest Graham, Buccaneers -- Well, I had to take one eventually. And while I don`t consider Graham to be a No. 1 fantasy back, I`m confident he`ll be able to produce fourth-round numbers.
Round 5, Pick 12: RB Kevin Smith, Lions -- Since I didn`t have that one stud RB, it was time to stockpile backs with potential. Smith has plenty of that with loads of talent and a starting spot in Detroit. His offensive line does worry me, though.
Round 6, Pick 1: RB Fred Taylor, Jaguars -- Back-to-back seasons of 1,100-plus rushing yards and five TDs gives Taylor some value to my RB-hungry team. I`m comfortable with Taylor as a RB3.
Round 7, Pick 12: RB Ricky Williams, Dolphins -- Hindsight has Williams looking like a steal with the final selection of Round 7.
Round 8, Pick 1: QB Matt Hasselbeck, Seahawks -- Hindsight has Hasselbeck looking like a reach with the first selection of Round 8. Oh well, I made up for it with....
Round 9, Pick 12: QB Jay Cutler, Broncos -- Thank goodness for two-headed QB monsters. Say hello to my Week 1 starter.
Round 10, Pick 1: RB Chris Perry, Bengals -- The whole stockpiling RBs with potential strategy has paid off nicely so far.
Round 11, Pick 12: TE Tony Scheffler, Broncos -- Cutler plus Scheffler equals every fantasy player`s best friend, double points.
Round 12, Pick 1: RB Pierre Thomas, Saints -- One more upside RB to throw on the pile.
Round 13, Pick 12: DEF Pittsburgh Steelers -- I had to draft a defense.
Round 14, Pick 1: K Adam Vinatieri, Colts -- I had to draft a kicker.
I really like this team and look forward to seeing how it performs on a week-to-week basis.
Going WR-WR-WR with the first three selections of a non-PPR league is a risky strategy, but it`s hard to argue against a starting lineup that includes Wayne, Owens and Holt.
The key is unquestionably getting two quality performances from my stable of RBs.
I`m the king of leaving points on the bench, so selecting two starters from five capable backs -- Graham, Smith, Taylor, Williams and Perry -- is going to be a chore each and every week.
